Final Round 20 Recap & Gallery

During the weekend of March 10-12, I got the chance to attend one of the most well-known gaming tournament in the fighting game community called Final Round 20. For those of you who many not know about this event, Final Round is an annual fighting game tournament held every year in Atlanta, Georgia. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Final Round event. Now personally I’m not apart of the fighting gaming community (FGC) and I’m not that good with fighting games, but I enjoy seeing other people play and compete with one another. I have attended Final Round many times in the past as a fan. Every time I attended, the event grows in numbers and the venue gets bigger to hold so many people. This year the event was held at the Georgia International Convention Center, which is appropriate for the 20th anniversary. There were tons of fighting games being played at Final Round such as Street Fighter 5, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Tekken, Super Smash Bros., BlazeBlue, Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive, Pokken Tournament, and tons of old school arcade fighting games. Now I didn’t play any of the games that were at the event, but it was still awesome to walk around the venue and see gamers at the edge of their seats with excitement and anticipation. My favorite part of the event is seeing the top 8 of Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I’ve always been a fan of the Marvel vs. Capcom series and I was hype to see the top players duke it out in the finals. Overall, I had fun attending Final Round 20. It’s always good to see a community come together for an amazing event and to do something that they love to do. If you are a fan of fighting games or video games in general, I highly suggest you attend to these types of event to enjoy yourself. Every year this event gets bigger and exciting. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for next year.
