That doesn’t really worry me though. If the series goes downhill or gets boring, I’ll just stop buying it. As I mentioned, I have a backlog of games, which won’t change any time soon, so I’m desperate for more games to play anyway.
Let Ubisoft worry about the brand; we as gamers only need worry about playing great games.

MartinBrentnall It could easily turn into a negative for the brand though. With out any huge updates in engine or gameplay, people will eventually get bored of it. The only reason a lot of FPS games get away with it is because of the multiplayer aspect. Other than MMO’s FPS games are the only type where you can have huge battles between real players. If it wasn’t for that CoD would be long dead. I think if Ubisoft keep recycling there IP like this, eventually everyone will be sick of it.

How can a game release be too early?
If you feel it should come out a year later, then just wait a year before buying it. You’ll get the same game when you want it at a much cheaper price.
Think about it: If the game comes out October 29 2013, and you buy it on October 29 2014, then you’ll probably pay $30 for it at most. If the release were to be held back a year until gamers like us were ready, then we would buy it on the same day for the full $60 instead, for the exact same game.
Personally, I’m still in the middle of Revelations. Meanwhile I fully expect AC3 to be significantly cheaper by the time I’ve finished Revelations and other games in my backlog.
That’s win-win as far as I’m concerned.

I believe the VGA is more like a popularity contest then a awards show, because they use a website were people vote. I think if the VGA’s want to be taken as seriously as the Oscar/Grammy/Tony/Emmy shows, they need to be the result of votes posted by an organization of developers and publishers, The Game Trailers are pretty cool but i could watch them on .gametrailers.com after the show xD
