What’s going on everyone! E3 is official underway and every gamers are overhyped to see what new games are coming in 2017 and 2018. On June 12, all eyes was on the Sony E3 2017 Press Conference. After the incredible presentations that both Microsoft and Ubisoft showcased, it was time for Sony to show out and tell the world what they had in store. So like every other gamers, I was glued to my seat and watch as Sony took center stage at E3 2017.
One thing that I know about Sony is that they love to put on a show for the audience. They started off their presentation with an Indian band playing a soft musical piece while sand was falling behind them. This was leading to the newest trailer for the upcoming game in the Uncharted series, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. I never played any of the Uncharted games, but it always looked fascinating. I know for a fact that this game will be a best seller in 2018. The next game Sony presented was a DLC for Horizon: Zero Dawn called, “The Frozen Wind”. I definitely slept on this game earlier this year, so I might have to pick up this title to see what’s all the fuss is about. The next game that was shown was Days Gone. When I saw this trailer, the first game that pop in my mind was “The Last of Us”. I’m not sure how I fell about this game, but I guess I have to wait to see more. Capcom made an appearance at the Sony presentation as they show off their newest game in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter World. One trailer that shocked me during this conference was the reveal of a PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus. This was a huge game back in the PS2 era and it’s nice that Sony is bringing it back for gamers who never got the chance to play it, like myself. Next up was Capcom again and they presented a new trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. One word that I yelled out during the trailer was “BLACK PANTHER”! But seriously, this was an awesome trailer and I am so going to play the demo asap. Next was a trailer for Call Of Duty: WW2, I’m not a fan of the COD series, so I wasn’t really into this trailer. Later, Sony show off their games for the PlayStation VR, such as Skyrim VR, Star Child, The Inpatient, Final Fantasy 15: Monster of the Deep, and Bravo Team. I understand that Sony is trying to push the VR, but honestly I think most gamers really don’t care about VR so much.
The biggest game that Sony showcased was of course, God of War! Everybody was waiting to hear and see more of Kratos. This game is a first day purchase for every die-hard PlayStation fan and I don’t blame them. The next game was Detroit: Become Human and I was really into this game and the feature that you control how the story will be told based off your actions. This game reminds me of a TellTale Games, where players are given choices that will impact the story of the game and I like how every gamers will have a different experience while playing this game. Destiny 2 was shown, but to me it was nothing special. Only if you’re a fan of the series you gonna love this game, but for me it was like “whatever”. The final game that was feature on the Sony Press conference was Marvel’s Spiderman and to me this was a disappointing finale. Don’t get me wrong the game looked great on screen. But if you want to end a E3 presentation I feel that you should do it with a bang, and this wasn’t it. First of all, who was seriously waiting to see a trailer for a Spiderman game? I felt like this shouldn’t be the game to close the presentation. Now I understand that Sony owns the right to Spiderman and that the movie is coming to theater next month, but still I was not hyped for this game.
So to concluded, the Sony E3 2017 Press Conference was a beautiful show to watch. However, I wasn’t really hyped for this show. Unlike Microsoft, I wasn’t sold on most of the game that was presented. The only games that I was excited for was Detroit: Become Human, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and Shadow of the Colossus. I know that most fans of Playstation fan are drooling over this conference, but for me this E3 presentation was not lit. That’s all I have to say about this E3 2017 press conference, Until next time, “Be Easy and Stay Epic”!
