The Story Of How Kingdom Hearts Changed My Life

Hey everyone, my name is Tyuno the Great. I have been a fan of video games ever since the age of 8. Every since I got my hands on a Gameboy Color, my life have never been the same. As I grow, I begin to explore different game on different consoles. At the age of 12, I graduated to a big boy’s console known as the PlayStation 2. I have to say, the PS2 at the time was awesome. Even though I considered myself a Nintendo fan-boy, I enjoyed playing a Sony console. I play a lot of games on the PS2, but there was one game that would have a major impact in my life. That game is of course, kingdom Hearts. This is the story of how Kingdom Hearts changed my life.

It all started at the age of 12 in the year 2002. I was just a casual gamer back in the day. I remember watching Cinematech on G4TV. As I was watching the show, it showed a trailer for a game that I never heard before. The trailer featured a boy in a weird outfit falling in water. Then suddenly the boy started to fight some shadows with a key and with him was Donald and Goofy fighting alongside. As I look at the trailer, I wonder what kind of game is this. Never before I have ever seen Disney characters fighting. So I never pay too much attention to the trailer. As time went on, every time I turn on to G4, I would always see this trailer for a game called Kingdom Hearts. And as I watch the trailers, I grow more and more interested in the product. Soon, I would see Kingdom Hearts in different gaming magazines. I would tell me friends about the game, and they looked at me like I was strange. Then I saw the commercial for Kingdom Hearts on television and I would some discovered Utada Hikara. I love to watch the commercials because I love the music, Simple and Clean, by Utada Hikara. Finally, on September 17,2002, the game that I fell in love with arrived in America. I remember going to the local Blockbuster and rented Kingdom Hearts for the first time. As soon as I got home, I put the game in my brother’s PS2 and finally played the game that I’ve been waiting for. At that time, I was 12 and was still new to RPGs so the game was a little challenging. But the more I played, I grew to understand the game. After I played Kingdom Hearts, I continued to play more KH games, such as Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 2. Ever since then, I became a Kingdom Hearts fanboy.

In conclusion, Kingdom Hearts help me grow as a gamer. I became more interested into RPG and other challenging games. Now i play more RPGs like Final Fantasy 13 and The Elder Scroll: Skyrim. I would say that Kingdom Hearts help me to become the nerdy, anime loving, J-POP fan, gamer that I am today. Now that Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is coming out this month on the 31, I look back at how much I love Kingdom Hearts. All I know is that Kingdom Hearts will always have a special place in my heart.
