What’s up everybody, this is Tyuno The Great. Last month I wanted to ask the people what was their most wanted fighting games in 2012. So I created a poll listing all the upcoming fighting games for 2012, here is a link to the poll. The poll is the now closed and I have the full results. After reading the final results, I have to say I was a little surprised. There are a ton of fighting games coming out in late 2012, but which game will be the most popular of them all? So with that being said, here are the top 5 most wanted fighting games for 2012 chosen by you, the people?
When Capcom announced Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins for the XBLA and PSN, I knew that fans for the old school MvC would get excited for this release. It’s great to see a old classic returning so new fans of the MvC series can play the game that started it all. Also, it good to see that Capcom is bringing back another classics, Marvel Super Heroes. A game that I haven’t even played before. I’ve been a fan of the old school 2D capcom fighting games, so Marvel vs. Capcom Origins is a must have.
One of the most surprising games to be announced this year would have to be Injustice: Gods Among Us. We’ve since characters from DC Comics fight before in Mortal Kombat vs. DC, but now we see that Injustice will be using almost the same gameplay similar to the recent Mortal Kombat reboot. I can’t wait to see what superheroes and supervillians will be apart of the roster. It will be interesting to see the cinematic storyline in this game. I was a huge fan of the MK reboot and I can’t wait to see what Ed Boon has in store for Injustice later this year.
PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale has to be the most talked about fighting game on the internet. News about this game have been leaked all over the world wide web. Some say it innovatived and some say it a direct copy of Super Smash Bros. Besides that, PSASBR is continuing to grow popularity. Recently, some of the characters that was leaked online have been officially revealed at this years Gamescom. The names are Spike (Ape Escape), Ratchet & Clank (Ratchet & Clank), Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet), and Dante (DmC). Who else will be part of the roster, only time will tell.
The second most wanted fighting game chosen by the fans is Tekken Tag Tournament 2. I was a fan of the original Tekken Tag Tournament game, now I get to play the upcoming sequel next month. The roster is stacked with some of the most fan favorite characters from the past. The game is getting some must hype behind it by having Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop Lion, promoting the game. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a top contender for best fighting game of 2012, but there is one other game that can easily take that title.
By far, the most wanted fighting game of 2012 chosen by the people is Dead or Alive 5. DOA5 beat the other games in the poll by a landslide. Most people voted for Dead or Alive 5 more than other game in the polls. It’s been awhile since we saw a new DOA game for the consoles. There are some much new features added to the new DOA5, with amazing graphics, great gameplay, and the addition of two characters from Virtua Fighter. The DOA community have been going crazy ever since the game was announced. I can easily say that Dead or Alive 5 is the most anticipated fighting game for 2012 and I can’t wait to get my hands on it and play it.
Well, that’s the top 5 most wanted fighting games for 2012 chosen by the people. I wanted to thank everyone who participated in the voting.
