It’s time to catch them all over again. One of Nintendo most beloved franchise, Pokemon, is back in a whole new way in Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 for the Nintendo DS. Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 is the most anticipated sequel to the previous Pokemon Black and White version. They’re new trailers, new gym leaders, new enemies, but the same old Pokemon. Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 offer a ton of new features for both new and old players. Is this the best Pokemon game to date?
The story of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 is the same as all of the other stories in every Pokemon game. You are a new trainer who leaves home to go on a long journey, battle gym leaders, defeat the main enemies that are trying to take over the world, and of course capture and collect all the Pokemon. There’s nothing new to the story except that it takes place two years after the first Pokemon Black and White. As I stated early, this game is a sequel. Some of the old characters from the previous game are back in a different role, for example your rival from the first game is now the first new gym leader of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2. No matter how much the Pokemon games uses the same storyline, for some odd reason it never gets old. With every Pokemon game, there’s something added to the story which make it new.
Just like the story, the gameplay of Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 are the same as previous Pokemon games in the past. The game has the standard turn-based RPG battle system. The battle system consist of one-on-one battles, two-on-two battles, and three-on-three battles. Players can also uses Pokemon moves outside of battle in order to progress the game, such as surf. Players can also trade Pokemon online.I always been a fan of the gameplay in Pokemon. It’s simple and easy so newcomers to the series can quickly learn and understand how to play. Gaining experience point can be boring, but it’s worth it. The gameplay in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 is on point and makes the game very fun to play.
The best part of Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 are the graphics. The mix between 2D and 3D animation is amazing. The animation looks very impressive on the Nintendo 3DS. I can see that Nintendo put in some great detail on the character’s and Pokemon animation. The in-game artwork is great to see. I can see that the artwork has an anime type style. The 3D environment in the world of Pokemon looks stunning. The graphics improves and get more amazing in every Pokemon game.
There’s not much to say about the sound in Black 2 and White 2. The music is similar to all the rest of the Pokemon games in the past but remixed. Of course there’s no voice over, but in a game like Pokemon you don’t need it. All I have to say is that the sound in the game is good and it gives it that Pokemon feeling to it.
In conclusion, Nintendo did yet another great job with Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2. If you are a fan of series, you will absolutely love playing this game. I guess Nintendo follows the motto, “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it”. The story will keep you interested throughout the game and the graphics are beautiful on the Nintendo DS. Pokemon have always had a special place in my heart, and Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 is a very amazing game to play.
