What’s up everyone, this is Tyuno The Great. As you may know, October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Everyday, millions of women fights against breast cancer. Here at The Tyuno Project, I support the fight against Breast Cancer. With that being said, I decided to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a top 5 list that focus on the women in video games. I want to list the top 5 most empowered women in video games. The women that I put on this list are strong-minded and brave. These women are highly known in the gaming world not because of their sex appeal, but because they are leaders, they are brave, and they are independent women. Here are the top 5 most empowered women in video games.
One of the new female protagonist of this decade has to be Lighting from Final Fantasy 13. Lightning is the female main character in the Final Fantasy 13 series. She’s a type of woman who is focus on her goal. When you see you first see her, you would think she’s a totally bad-ass, and you be right. Lightning is a tough cookie to crack and has a strong will to save for sister and the world.
A sneaky double agent and one of the most popular character from the Resident Evil series is the cunning Ada Wong. I’m more familiar with Ada from her role in Resident Evil 4. What’s cool about Ada is that she can use her sexy attracting features has her weapon. You may think she on your side, but she have another agenda up her sleeve. Ada is a type of woman who does what ever it takes to get the job done.
The next female on this list is both awesome and underrate. Her name is Jade from the game, Beyond Good and Evil. When I think about Jade, I don’t think of her as a sex appealing character. I see her as adventurist and as a cool, kick-ass character. Both her and the game are both gems in the gaming industry, and I hope one day we can get the most anticipated sequel that I know many people are waiting for.
When you think about female women empowerment in video games, one of the most popular female character that pop in my mind is, of course, Lara Croft. In the mainstream, Lara Croft is a symbol of all womanhood. She tough and athletic. Back in the PlayStation 1 era in the 90′s, one of the face that help launch the PS1 to popularity was Lara Croft and Tomb Raider. Lara Croft was an amazing women back in the day and will be again in the future.
The most empowered woman in video game has to be the one that I believed started it all, and that is Samus Aran from the Metroid series. I see Samus as a pioneer. When you played Metroid on the NES, many player never suspected that they were playing with a girl throughout the game until the end. That was one of the most shocking moments in video games history because it was the first time players played with a female as the lead main character. Samus Aran can do anything a man can do, and does it better. She an independent woman and is a force to be reckoned with. And that is way I chose her as my number one most empowered woman in video games.
In video games or in life, women everywhere are strong and incredible. Certain people may think that women are just weak and frail, but in reality, women are fighter in life and are the most strong will, beautiful, and powerful creatures on this earth. No matter what obstacle they may face in their life, women can always overcome and win the fight.
