On Tuesday June 11, Nintendo held there E3 edition of their Nintendo Direct. They showed a ton of exclusive games for the Nintendo Wii U, but by far the game that everyone was looking forward to was the trailer for the next Super Smash Bros. game. Once Nintendo showed off the trailer for the next Smash Bros. everyone (including myself) was excited. I am a huge fan of the Super Smash Bros series and I know that the next installment will be awesome, but I do have some questions about the new characters that were selected as part of the roster.
One of the new characters that was revealed in the Super Smash Bros trailer was Capcom’s very own Mega Man. Once news got out that Mega Man will a apart of the roster, people got hype on Twitter and express how they were excite. I am excite to see Mega Man in Smash, but the other two new characters that was revealed got me scratching my head. The first new character that was announced was a Villager from Animal Crossing. Now my question about this character is “why just a regular villager?” It doesn’t make sense to put a Villager on the roster when you have other characters in Animal Crossing such as K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, or Mr. Resetti. Maybe the villager will be a good character in Smash Bros, but right now I just don’t see it.
Now the next characters that was revealed later at E3 got me saying WTF! The newest character for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. is the Wii Fit Trainer. Now my question is “Who idea was it to put the trainer from Wii Fit into the roster?” There are a ton of famous Nintendo characters, but I would never though about putting the trainer from Wii Fit in the roster. I saw the reveal trailer for the Wii Fit trainer and my reaction was “HUH ?” Maybe I’m missing something, but it feels kind of weird to have a character that many people probably don’t know exist as part of the roster.
So over all, beside Mega Man, the characters that were announced for the new Super Smash Bros. are questionable, but I can’t really say anything until I get the full information about the game. Until then I will be patience and I will wait for more information on Super Smash Bros. That’s all I have to say for now, until next time “Be Easy and Stay Epic!”
